New Art of Shell Training Content!
As part of our commitment to satisfying our customers, we are publishing weekly updates to our training content. This week, we have new content surrounding:
- Microsoft Azure Container Service (ACS)
- Microsoft PowerShell Gallery
- Docker Application Container Fundamentals
Whether you’re brand new to IT, or a veteran in the industry, these are topics that will be hugely valuable to your career!
First Steps with Docker Containers (PREVIEW)
Docker is all the rage in the software development industry! Application-level containerization is one of the hottest topics that helps to enable consistency across development, test, and production environments. App containers also are a key enabler of DevOps teams, helping rapid software testing and deployment automation.
Microsoft Azure Container Service (PREVIEW)
During this course, we’ll explore the Microsoft Azure Container Service (ACS), which was first released in April 2016. ACS enables the simplified deployment of infrastructure services on Microsoft Azure, which are pre-configured to run a Docker Swarm cluster or Apache Mesos. Docker Swarm is the native Docker clustering solution that enables high availability at massive scale.
We’ll deploy Docker Swarm on ACS, using a couple of different methods, and then look at how to connect to the cluster and start deploying lightweight application containers using Docker. Get ready to put your PowerShell hat on, because we are going to be using it to deploy ACS using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) JSON Templates! Check out our other courses on ARM fundamentals, if you’re new to ARM!
PowerShell Gallery (PREVIEW)
The PowerShell Gallery is a module and script repository (think “NuGet for PowerShell“) that was launched with PowerShell version 5.0. PowerShell 5.0 is included with Windows 10, and is also available for separate installation on down-level operating systems such as Windows 7, 8.1, and Server 2012 R2.
Leveraging the PowerShell Gallery will make installing, updating, and inventorying PowerShell modules, across many systems, a significantly easier task! Watch this course and learn how!
